“Who wants to become a writer? And why? Because it’s the answer to everything. It’s the streaming reason for living. To note, to pin down, to build up, to create, to be astonished at nothing, to cherish the oddities, to let nothing go down the drain, to make something, to make a great flower out of life, even if it’s a cactus.”

What We Expect:
- Come prepared: Always bring a notebook and pen / laptop and the next assignment.
- Sharing is Caring: Putting our creativity out for the world to see makes us at times feel a little vulnerable. That’s okay, if you are not comfortable at first, then wait until you are. You will not always have to share your work, but to become a better writer, others will need to critique your work. - T.R.Y.: We don’t give up, we don’t give in, we try no matter what. Writer’s block is the worst, but there are tips I will share to get through it. - Find the Time: The only way to become a writer is to make time. Write everyday if possible. Even if only for ten minutes. - Grammar Police: We will become better with grammar throughout the writing process, but don’t let it hinder you. Just write...we will always revise later. |

Rules
Come to create!
- This club is designed to make sure that every moment we get, we are thinking, talking, and actively working on creative writing ideas. Make sure when you are present, that the conversations remain on topic and focused. Club members only - Friends are important, but unless they are actively participating in the club, they will not be allowed. There should be no distractions. No monopolizing - Every voice should be heard, not just one or two. We will make sure everyone gets an equal amount of time and no one person takes up all the time. Everyone’s voice counts, so mind your manners - There will be numerous times we share our ideas and writing. NO IDEA IS STUPID. We will give ONLY constructive criticism. Be here or not at all - Attendance for meetings is mandatory. If you cannot attend a meeting, you need to let Ms. Coleman or a club officer know in advance. Excessive absences will lead to club membership being revoked. |
